Statement From The FA - Tier 4 Students/Migrants

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The FA has requested that all Leagues in the National League System publish the following statement on their websites and bulletins.

The FA urges all Clubs to verify the credentials of Tier 4 students/migrants who may have International Clearance certificates granted, but who may not be able to play in what is deemed to be professional football in a professional league where clubs have one or two contract professionals.

Under these circumstances, they may be restricted to recreational football only.

The FA recognises that they may be legal challenges but neither the FA nor the League are preventing participation.  Clubs should seek guidance from the UK Border Agency on a specially dedicated number – 0300 123 4699.

Clubs found guilty of employing Tier 4 migrants illegally may be liable for a fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker.
